Kyusu Japanese Teapot - Kuroibushi Kinpaku by Yoshiki- #153 450ml
Kyusu Japanese Teapot - Kuroibushi Kinpaku by Yoshiki- #153 450ml
Handmade in Tokoname, Japan by master craftsman Yoshiki Murata
The gold kinpaku decoration was done in Kutani, Japan.
Yoshiki is famous for his tataki, or hammered surface effect on his teapots.
This teapot was fired in a reduction atmosphere to darken the iron rich clay. Then the surface was slightly sanded to reveal the red clay underneath along the textured surface of this pot.
The gold kinpaku decoration is reminiscent of ancient Yamato-e paintings and Maki-e lacquer ware.
Built in ceramic filter.
These beautiful teapots are all made in Japan and are typically used for green tea. The smaller size of the pot allows you to pour out the entire infusion so that tea leaves can be easily re-infused numerous times. Each pot contains an infuser to keep the leaves out of your cup! These are a great way to make your own tea ritual more personal.
