Handmade in Jingdezhen, China

A stunningly glazed gaiwan handcrafted in the porcelain capital of the world, Jingdezhen. The glaze is a stunning cascade of colour reminiscent of Tang Dynasty Sancai ware. This gaiwan is flawless. Perfect for tasting small samples of new teas, or for long numerous steeps. Gaiwan are most commonly used as teapots, holding the vessel with three fingers and slightly opening the lid to allow the tea to flow out while filtering out the leaves. The gaiwan can also be held on the dish and drunk out of like a teacup, using the lid to keep the tea leaves from going in your mouth.
