This Tsuyuhikari Matcha, meaning “Dew Light,” comes from the lush tea fields of Shizuoka Prefecture, a region celebrated for producing some of Japan’s most refined teas. A single-cultivar matcha, it showcases the unique character of Tsuyuhikari—naturally sweet, smooth, and rich in umami. The tea’s vibrant green colour and creamy texture reflect expert shading and careful stone-grinding. Matcha is a Japanese powdered tea that has been around for the past 1000 years. It is prepared with 85C water and then whipped up with a bamboo whisk. It produces a slightly foamy, vibrant green drink with a rich vegetal, slightly sweet taste. Because the leaves are not removed from the cup as in a traditional tea steeping method, but rather consumed, matcha tea contains the highest level of anti-oxidants, vitamins and caffeine.
